Why we exist
Women's health research & education has been continuously overlooked and ignored. Health Is A Teenage Girl aims to change that by creating an educational & uplifting community for girls to learn how to take proper care of their bodies and to locally volunteer. We’re committed to spreading holistic women’s health awareness, focusing on fitness, body literacy, mental health, and self-advocacy. Every girl deserves to have relatable, science-backed information and a community that gets her.

My name is Elina. I am a rising senior from ATX. Since I was 14, I've researched fitness for the sake of becoming a better athlete and lifter. From '25-'26 I had a concussion that affected every aspect of my health, then I sustained a back reinjury that left me bedridden and unable to work out for several months. I dealt with not knowing what was wrong, doctors not fully understanding me, and having to advocate for myself, only finding proper treatment months later. Those experiences and my extra free time shaped my passion project, Health Is a Teenage Girl. Throughout my health journey, I realized how important holistic wellness is for women and how activity ties into it. I created this project to make an impact through awareness, advocacy, and acceptance for Women’s health, especially among young teenagers, so I can be the advocate I didn't have.
